How to use Hyperliquid Live
Read the tapes, follow wallets and understand what the terminal measures.

What can I see on Hyperliquid Live?
Public executions across native perpetuals, HIP-3 markets, spot pairs and HIP-4 outcomes. Each family has its own tape. Open Trade for a supported market’s charts, book and execution ticket, or select a buyer or seller to inspect a public wallet profile. A Trade link opens the exact supported perpetual market, including its HIP-3 venue. Spot and HIP-4 remain reading views.
Do I need to connect a wallet?
Reading tapes, markets and public profiles does not require a wallet. The Trade and Portfolio pages add optional execution for a connected wallet. You review orders before submitting them and approve a trading session when needed. The site never asks for a seed phrase. Watching an address does not grant control over that account.
How do I move from reading to execution?
Open Trade beside a supported market. The ticket uses that market identifier, not the observed trader’s size or direction. Check the connected account, venue, collateral, quantity and order review before submitting. A basket opens a basket ticket; an individual asset opens its own ticket.
Are order simulations guaranteed fills?
No. Ticket previews explain the requested size, margin and TP/SL scenarios before fees. Prices can change, limit orders can remain unfilled and multi-leg baskets can fill partially. Confirmed account state and exchange responses determine what actually happened.
How is trade size calculated?
Executed price multiplied by executed quantity, before fees. The calculation retains API decimals. Display rounding does not turn the result into a currency conversion. In the tapes, $ denotes USDC; other quote tokens keep their own labels.
Why do totals change after a reload?
The KPI cards count received trades since the page opened. Subscription replays can populate the tape without entering those totals. Reloading starts a new measurement period. These counters are not exchange-wide 24-hour volume.
What does realized PnL measure?
The terminal progressively matches account fills to executions and displays the API closedPnl separately for buyer and seller, before fees and funding. Coverage is partial; each value requires an exact account fill match. A dash is unknown, not zero. Spot and outcome inventory accounting may differ from an external or tax cost basis.
Can I export trades?
The tape export downloads the matching trades retained in the browser buffer. It cannot recover executions missed during a disconnection or trades already evicted from the bounded buffer.
